Tired from the walk at Cansiglio Wood and discouraged by a bad light, I sat on a rock to eat something before returning home. And that’s when the grace of the “scars” on the trunk of a beech grabbed my attention. I intentionally over-exposed the photo in camera and then used a slight localized burning in post production to make them stand out against a suitable background.
